What we collect, why we collect it, who helps us process it and the choices you have.

Last updated: 4 November 2026

1. Who we are

MojoExplains is operated by Villerise Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 15768976), which is the controller of your personal data. For any privacy question or request, email support@mojoexplains.com or use our contact page.

2. What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address, profile picture choice, theme, and how you sign in (an emailed link or code, or Google). With Google we receive your name, email address and profile basics.
  • Orders and payments: handled by Stripe. We receive your billing name and country, the card brand, last four digits and expiry date, and records of your orders, subscriptions and invoices — never your full card number.
  • Project content: the website address you give us, what our AI found when it studied it, your answers to the wizard and the brief, files you upload, the scripts, voiceovers, music and videos we produce, and the edits and messages you send in your projects.
  • Website research: the public pages of the website you give us, which our systems read and capture to understand your product.
  • Sandbox browser sessions: if you log into a demo account in our secure browser, that browser's session data (such as cookies) is stored by our browser provider so the AI can capture screens while you're away. We never ask for or store your password. Saved sessions are deleted 30 days after your video is delivered.
  • Usage analytics: our own first-party, cookieless analytics — a random ID kept in your browser's local storage, the pages you view, the steps you take in the wizard, where your visit came from (for example a search engine or an ad's campaign tags), your device type, screen size, time zone and approximate country from your IP address.
  • Security data: IP address, browser information and sign-in records, used to keep accounts secure and stop abuse.
  • Emails and messages: the emails we send you about your account, orders and videos, and messages you send us through the contact form or by email.

3. How we use it, and why we're allowed to

  • To provide the Service (performing our contract with you): your account, making and delivering your videos, AI edits, payments, and the emails that go with them.
  • To keep things secure and improve them (our legitimate interests): preventing fraud and abuse, understanding how the site is used, fixing problems and improving the product.
  • To meet legal obligations: keeping tax and accounting records.
  • With your consent: advertising and analytics cookies from Google, only if we use them and only where you've agreed (see our Cookie Policy).

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your project content to train AI models.

4. AI providers

To research your product, write the script, generate the voiceover and music and build the animation, project content is processed by AI service providers (for language, voice and music generation and web research). We send them only what's needed for your video, and we choose providers whose terms limit their use of that data to providing their service to us. We never name the specific models we use.

5. Who else helps us

We share data only with service providers that help us run MojoExplains, and only what each needs:

  • Stripe — payments, subscriptions, invoices and fraud prevention.
  • Cloudflare — file storage for your videos, uploads and projects (R2), security and the bot check on our forms (Turnstile).
  • DigitalOcean — the temporary cloud machines that make your videos; each one is destroyed when its job ends.
  • Browserbase — the secure sandbox browser used to capture your product's screens.
  • AI providers — as described above.
  • Google — sign-in with Google if you choose it, and, if we use them, Google's analytics and advertising tags with your consent.
  • Our hosting and email providers — to run the website and send emails.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and users in cases of fraud or abuse.

6. How long we keep it

  • Account data: while your account exists.
  • Projects, uploads and delivered videos: while your account exists, or until you ask us to delete them.
  • Sandbox browser sessions: deleted 30 days after your video is delivered.
  • Research of public websites: cached briefly so repeated requests are fast, then refreshed.
  • Payment, invoice and subscription records: as long as tax and accounting laws require (in the UK, usually six years), even after an account is deleted.
  • Analytics and security logs: only as long as needed for their purpose.
  • Messages to support: as long as needed to help you, and a reasonable time after.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and cookieless first-party analytics. Advertising or analytics cookies from Google are only used if we turn those tags on, and then only with your consent where it's required. Our Cookie Policy lists them.

8. International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside the UK and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to restrict or object to some processing, and to withdraw consent you've given. Email support@mojoexplains.com and we'll answer within one month. You can also complain to a data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Records we must keep by law are kept even after you ask us to delete your account.

10. Security

Connections are encrypted with HTTPS, your session is kept in a secure, http-only cookie, card payments are handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1), files are stored privately and shared only through expiring links, and access to personal data is limited to what's needed to run the Service.

11. Children

MojoExplains is for businesses and adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal data.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in your dashboard before it applies. The date at the top shows the latest version.
